Six things that separate a good taco from a great one

01

The tortilla is nixtamalized

Real corn tortillas start with nixtamal — corn cooked in lime, rested, then ground. Al Taco presses 8-inch nixtamal corn tortillas by hand every day, which is why they smell like corn instead of cardboard.

02

The tortilla is 8 inches, not 5

Most taquerias hand you a 5-inch tortilla and double it up. Our tacos are built on a single 8-inch tortilla, corn or flour, so you get more filling per bite and nothing falls through.

03

The beef is graded

Angus top choice beef, wood-fired and sliced thin for sirloin tacos and burritos.

04

There is cheese between the tortillas

Cheese hidden between the tortillas of our mini tacos for a warm, melted layer.

05

The kitchen is open late

Open until 3am Friday and Saturday — late-night tacos when most spots are closed.

06

The recipes have a home

Recipes from the heart of Mexico, built on family techniques and real ingredients.
